We strongly encourage renewal of your Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and optional Top Up insurance through Lawcover’s Online Services. Renewing this way provides most law practices with confirmation of cover in a single transaction. If however, you require personalised assistance or have a query in relation to your policy or terms, the Insurance Services team is only a phone call away and will ensure that you receive responsive and relevant support throughout the renewal process. We will be sending further information together with your law practice’s secure log-in details in early April. These details will enable you to access Online Services, enter the relevant information regarding your practice, generate a quote and finalise payment. For most law practices this will be a one-step process. Some law practices may experience a short delay while their application is being assessed. The due date for finalisation of your 2015/16 insurance arrangements is 15 May, in line with your practising certificate renewal. Your current insurance policy expiry date of 30 June 2015 will remain in force until the new policy takes effect from 1 July 2015. Tips for a faster renewal using Online Services: 1. Check your details: When you receive your Lawcover renewal notification and log into Online Services, check your details to ensure that your law practice’s PII needs and other details (such as your law practice’s address and principal contacts) are correct. Update any information online, or call us to discuss significant changes to your law practice profile and we will issue you with a manual quotation. 2. Check theamount youdeclareas your lawpractice’s annual Gross Fee Income (GFI): Ensure that you declare the correct GFI for the work that you are performing. It may make a difference to your premium. If in doubt, please contact our Insurance Services team for assistance. 3. Staff details: Ensure that staff included in section 1: “Staff Details” are staff directly employed by your law practice and exclude independent contractors.
