2. Movingwithchanging times In an unparalleled year, Lawcover’s Risk Management Education program has adapted and grown to accommodate the needs of the profession. The popular face-to- face Risk Management Workshops, Principals Workshops, Claims Prevention Roadshows and Risk Briefings have been adapted to a virtual Zoom format to give practitioners continued access to our unique program while face-to- face events are on hold. As 2021 approaches, Lawcover continues to explore ways in which we can expand our risk management message and provide the profession with informative, reliable and accessible risk education. 2021 Events One Day Claims Prevention Seminar In 2021, the always-popular, annual One Day Claims Prevention Seminar will be made available in a hybrid format. Conducted via Zoom to accommodate those who are unable to travel, and also face-to-face – with COVID-19 safe measures in place and limited numbers – for those who wish to attend in person. This seminar books out quickly, so register now to avoid missing out. Risk Management Workshops Lawcover provides a series of Risk Management Workshops designed to address risks that are inherent in everyday legal practice. Whether it is a missed deadline, a data breach or a drafting error, everyone that supports a law practice should know how risk relates to them and what they can do to manage it. Principals Workshops Ultimately, risks in the law practice rests with the owners – the principals. Principals Workshops are designed to assist a law practice in reducing their exposure to professional negligence claims while enhancing the quality of their legal services. ^ Insurance Premium Discounts A discount of up to 10% of a law practice’s insurance premium is available if all principals attend the Principals Workshops. Claims Prevention Roadshows Lawcover’s Claims Prevention Roadshows combine a mix of the latest cases, claims, war stories, emerging risks and trends with practical tips to manage risk in everyday practice. Risk Briefings Through claims analysis, Lawcover provides Risk Briefings in claims- prone areas of law including Property, Wills and Estates, Family, Costs and Litigation. Each two-hour Risk Briefing is specific to an area of law, examining common traps and providing guidance on how to avoid them.
