Breach response procedures

Dont panic! If you have experienced a cyber breach you should take action immediately. Follow the steps below within the time frames to ensure a timely response for your law practice.

In the first hour do this

Have the details of the breach including:

– Time of breach

– Type of breach

– Location of breach

– Details of breach

In the next three hours it’s important to

Inform all your staff that you have experienced a breach and follow your IT protocols if applicable. It is wise to remain offline until you have been directed otherwise by the crisis management team.

With in the next 24 hours

Inform your clients that your firm has experienced a cyber breach and the steps that you have taken to rectify the situation.
